Title: Sources of Inspiration

"We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public." -Brian White

This quote is very true and goes very well with the inspiration for the title of the blog. The title is "Never grow up". Yes, this saying is from Peter Pan, which is part of the inspiration source, but there is so much more.

Some people in the world are so uptight and serious. These people can often be looked at as being stuck up and rude, when in reality they are just trying to live their daily lives. The main inspiration for the blog title is from all the people in the world. You can take the title as being literal, as in literally NEVER grow up. Or you can take it as simply the three words that it is, never grow up. Be serious when needed, but also stay a kid at heart. Yes, there are times where you need to be serious, professional, and mature. But there are also plenty of times where you can joke around and laugh. When you are with friends and family you can be silly and carefree with no worry about who is judging you. Be the kid at heart that you are meant to be in certain situations. If everyone in the world was serious all of the time and never laughed, the world would be a very boring place. Going back to the opening quote, people in this world never really do grow up. Everyone has their moments when they are a total goofball and love it. We all learn how to act in public when it is necessary. The inspiration for the title comes from people all around and the happiness that radiates from them when they are laughing and being their silly selves.

Colors: Sources of Inspiration

"Colors speak louder than words." -Unknown
Colors...there are so many to choose from. You can go with the basics or you can go with the fancy shades of  colors. Colors are a fun thing to mess around with. You can do so much with color.

http://goo.gl/lH5Wq
For this blog the main font color is lime green. The inspiration is once again from the Peter Pan movie. He wears green and so does Tinkerbell. Lime green is constantly seen through the whole Peter Pan movie. This color relates with the theme of the blog. The color of the background is a gray mixed with some lighter shades of pinks and blues. These colors aren't too bright, but they match the colors in the header picture. The header picture has a lot of grays, but also has hints of brighter colors throughout the picture. A pop of color brightens up the surroundings. Colors can relate to feelings and make people feel certain ways. In my opinion the colors in the blog kind of show a relaxed, yet happy feel.

Font Choice: Sources of Inspiration

"Come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned." ~Peter Pan

Font is a tricky thing to choose. There are so many options and if you don't have an idea of what kind of font you want, it could take forever to choose. Since the main inspiration for the blog design is Peter Pan I chose a font that is somewhat similar to the font for the movie title. The font all throughout the blog is called calligraffitti. It has the swirl of the Peter Pan movie font, but it also has the rough edges that are visible in the movie title font.

The font is also easy to read, which is one of the main things to think about when choosing a font. Even if a font looks good to you it may not be the right choice for the readers. A font should be something everyone can read and should be chosen wisely. If font isn't easy to read then no one will want to take their time and read the blog posts.

Designing Process: Sources of Inspiration

"All you need is faith, trust, and a little bit of pixie dust." ~Peter Pan

http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Tinker_Bell

Designing a blog can take a lot of thought. You want it to be creative and attention grabbing, but at the same time you don't want it to be too overwhelming to the eyes. The design of this blog is inspired by the movie Peter Pan. Peter Pan is a classic Disney movie, about  a boy who doesn't want to grow up and his trusty sparkling sidekick Tinkerbell.

The picture underneath the blog title is of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, John, Michael, and Wendy flying through London. In the distance you can see Neverland, which is their destination. This picture has softer colors in it. So it wasn't too bright and overwhelming right when you go onto the blog page. There is a glitter background to go with the header picture. It is primarily gray to match with the soft colors in the picture and help the brighter colors in the picture stand out a little more. Some of the glitter is light pinks and blues that go with the brighter colors in the picture. The sparkles also signify Tinkerbell's pixie dust throughout the whole Peter Pan movie. Without her pixie dust they wouldn't be able to fly to Neverland and Peter Pan wouldn't have been able to stay young.

Disney Parks

“Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.” ~ Walt Disney

Walt Disney sure has made a name for himself. Disney merchandise and advertisements are seen everywhere in the world. The main focus of this blog is going to be on the parks more specifically about Disney World in Florida. First I am going to give some information on all of the parks. There are 6 Disney parks around the world.

The first park to open was Disneyland in Anaheim, California. It opened July 17, 1955. This was the original park that Walt had designed and built for families to enjoy. There are two properties to this park. One is the Disneyland Park and the second is Disney California Adventure.

  • Disneyland Park has the Sleeping Beauty castle.
  • Disney California Adventure has the big Ferris wheel with Mickey Mouse on it.
