Hollywood Studios: Streets of America

"It's called a salute to all nations, but mostly America." -Muppet Vision 3D

Streets of America is the next section of Hollywood Studios. Most of the attractions in this part are being taken out in April to add more for Star Wars and Toy Story. This section is filled with shows for families to enjoy.

First is Muppet Vision 3D. This is a 3D show starring the beloved Muppet characters. It is a 25 minute show. The Muppet's give you a tour of their new lab for the new technology they are getting ready to debut. The show itself is 3D, but it has 4D in theater effects. As the show goes on your chair moves along with the characters actions and you feel gusts of wind as well. Towards the end, characters come out from behind the curtain to give the show a grand finale.

Second is Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. This is one of the attractions that they will be removing. This is a playground for children to play in and let their parents relax if needed. The playground is full of everyday items that are enlarged so it seems like you have shrunk and you are seeing the items as being gigantic.

Third is the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. This show is also being removed from the park. It is a car stunt show. This show is full of many car stunts and action scenes played by stunt drivers and actors. There are many explosions within the show. Lightning McQueen also makes an appearance. Cars drive backwards and make jumps and swerve away from their enemies.

Fourth was the Studio Backlot Tour. This has recently been removed from the park. As you wait in line for this there are many movie props and memorabilia. From the Hannah Montana Movie to the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen. So many cool movie props to walk through and see. Then once you get into the ride you get on a slow moving tram and see more movie props. They had many cars from movies including some of the original Herbies. The tram takes you through a tunnel where you get to see the costume makers for movies and the characters in the parks.

Hollywood Studios is constantly changing. They are in the middle of taking away some of their current attractions and adding new ones. They are currently starting to build more attractions for the Star Wars section and they are adding to the Pixar Toy Story section. The park used to have a big Mickey Sorcerer hat, but they have recently took it down. So now when you walk in you see The Great Movie Ride straight ahead.

Magic Kingdom: Liberty Square and Frontierland

"But enough of this chit chat, yick yack, and flim flam." -Country Bears

Liberty Square and Frontierland are the next two parts of Magic Kingdom. They are both some of the smaller parts of the park as a whole. Liberty Square is the smallest section. When you walk in it looks like an old colonial village. Where Frontierland, has an old western feel to it. Here are some of the most popular attractions in each park.

Liberty Square-

First is the Hall of Presidents, This is a multi-media presentation and stage show of the Presidents. (https://goo.gl/haALpF)

Magic Kingdom: Fantasyland

"Fantasyland is dedicated to the young and young-at-heart- to those that believe when you wish upon a star, your dreams do come true." -Walt Disney

The second section I am going to talk about in Magic Kingdom is Fantasyland. This section of the park has many different attractions. This post is going to describe some of the most popular ones. Disney World has added on to this park within that last few years. They added Ariel's Grotto, a Beauty and the Beast section, a Rapunzel section, and a new Snow White roller coaster. This area is full of princesses and well loved Disney movie attractions. They have The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's flight, Mickey's Phillar Magic Show, and many more.
Prince Eric's castle in Ariel's Grotto (my photo)
One of the most popular rides here is the Mad Tea Party. Also known as the teacups. This ride is shown in a lot of Walt Disney World commercials and other advertisements. When you ride this, you sit in a huge tea cup. As the ride starts the tea cups start to spin, but there is a wheel in the middle that allows you to manually spin the tea cup faster. It is up to you how fast you want your tea cup to move round and round.
my photo
Next is Dumbo the Flying Elephant. This ride is a big hit for the kids. You sit in a Dumbo cart and the ride goes round and round as you fly through the air.

http://goo.gl/eUySgg
It's A Small World is a very well known attraction at Disney World. You ride around in a boat and listen to the song, It's A Small World. The ride takes you around to different sections where there are children, representing many different countries.
http://goo.gl/DHBzxF
Last is Snow White's Mine Train. This is one of the newest attractions added to Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland, opened in 2014. This ride takes you on a journey through the dwarfs mine with all of their gems and it ends up near their cottage with Snow White. This is a roller coaster, but it rides very smooth and the seat you sit in rocks a little during the ride.

Magic Kingdom: Tomorrowland

"A vista into a world of wondrous ideas, signifying man's achievements...a step into the future, with predictions of constructive things to come. Tomorrow offers new frontiers in science, adventure, and ideas: the Atomic Age, the challenge of outer space, and the hope for a peaceful and unified world." -Walt Disney
http://goo.gl/ju7jhk
Tomorrowland is a section in Magic Kingdom. It was also recently made into a movie with George Clooney. This part of the park was made to represent Walt Disney's view of the future. It was hard to do that because as years go on it had to be updated...very often, so they decided to make it the future that was described by 1920's and 1930's sci-fi writers. Facts from: http://goo.gl/ju7jhk This whole part has metal and neon lights with a mixture of space and aliens all around.

The biggest attraction in this part is Space Mountain. Space Mountain is an indoor roller coaster that is mostly in the dark with the occasional neon lights displaying space like features. It is super fast and thrilling.
http://goo.gl/TlqkJC
Second is Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. This ride is like a huge arcade game. You sit in a seat with a toy laser gun in front of you. Once the ride starts you aim the gun at objects and shoot to gain points.
http://goo.gl/TlqkJC
Third is the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. This is a stand up comedy show that is hosted by none other than Mike Wazowski. They use the characters in the show to interact with the audience and involve them in the whole show.
my photo
Fourth is Stitch's Great Escape. This is not a ride, but more of a show with interaction. They seat you in a seat that stays in place, but jerks around a little bit as the "ride" starts. The whole idea of it is that Stitch gets out of his cage and starts roaming around the space ship. It goes completely dark and you hear the characters talking back and forth about where to look for him. Then all of a sudden you hear Stitch and then feel gusts of wind at your feet and Stitches voice in your ear. It gets kind of thrilling not knowing when Stitch will "run" passed your feet or be right in your ear. It might be a little too scary for little kids. They have changed the ride a little bit because before it was scaring too many kids.
my photo
Finally last, but not least is the Carousel of Progress. This is one of Disney's oldest attractions. This attraction shows a bunch of scenes of people in rooms talking about history.

Disney World: The Most Magical Place On Earth

"Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy."

This plaque is seen when you walk into Magic Kingdom.
http://goo.gl/l0R73V

They say Disney World is the most magical place on Earth and some people may not agree, but it is a pretty special place. Even if you don't like Disney just going and seeing the smiles and joy that fills everyone's face is pretty awesome. Magic Kingdom is the most popular out of the 4 parks at Disney World in Florida. The main attraction at this park is Cinderella's castle. It is shown on most advertisements for Disney World and a lot of people associate the whole park with this castle.

Walking into Magic Kingdom you find yourself on Main Street USA, on the sides are shops and restaurants and then straight down the middle there it is...Cinderella's Castle!! It is a very beautiful building with a lot of detail. It stands at 183 feet tall. It also took 18 months to build and was completed in July of 1971 then the park opened up 3 months later. The castle is inspired by many real life castles and a couple fictional ones. Facts from: https://goo.gl/Rcktc1

http://goo.gl/cT6UkK
The castle has a stage show that goes on every hour with Mickey and his friends and most of the Princesses and Princes. They dance and sing-a-long to everyone's favorite Disney tunes. Occasionally they will have Tinkerbell fly out on a string that starts at the top of the castle. Then at night they have a show called Nighttime Spectacular. This show displays pictures and movie scenes onto the castle. Nighttime Spectacular is quite an amazing show, the way the projection hits each and every inch of the castle and displays the scenes is pretty amazing. The show makes the castle look completely different. To top off the show they set off fireworks.

Quotes: Sources of Inspiration

"Quotation, n: The act of repeating erroneously the words of another." -Ambrose Bierce

There are so many quotes in the world. Anything can be quoted, for example, what I am typing right now can be quoted if you really wanted it to be. Words represent so much in everyday life.

The decision to start each blog post with a quote came from everyday conversations. The inspiration is endless. People say things that are worthy of being quoted everyday and people quote things everyday. You can quote a song, a book, a movie, a friend, so many possibilities. I think adding a quote at the top of each blog post will give people an idea of what the post will be about and grab their attention before getting further into the post. Depending on the quote, it could also give someone else inspiration for something.
