Hollywood Studios: Streets of America

"It's called a salute to all nations, but mostly America." -Muppet Vision 3D

Streets of America is the next section of Hollywood Studios. Most of the attractions in this part are being taken out in April to add more for Star Wars and Toy Story. This section is filled with shows for families to enjoy.

First is Muppet Vision 3D. This is a 3D show starring the beloved Muppet characters. It is a 25 minute show. The Muppet's give you a tour of their new lab for the new technology they are getting ready to debut. The show itself is 3D, but it has 4D in theater effects. As the show goes on your chair moves along with the characters actions and you feel gusts of wind as well. Towards the end, characters come out from behind the curtain to give the show a grand finale.

Second is Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. This is one of the attractions that they will be removing. This is a playground for children to play in and let their parents relax if needed. The playground is full of everyday items that are enlarged so it seems like you have shrunk and you are seeing the items as being gigantic.

Third is the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. This show is also being removed from the park. It is a car stunt show. This show is full of many car stunts and action scenes played by stunt drivers and actors. There are many explosions within the show. Lightning McQueen also makes an appearance. Cars drive backwards and make jumps and swerve away from their enemies.

Fourth was the Studio Backlot Tour. This has recently been removed from the park. As you wait in line for this there are many movie props and memorabilia. From the Hannah Montana Movie to the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen. So many cool movie props to walk through and see. Then once you get into the ride you get on a slow moving tram and see more movie props. They had many cars from movies including some of the original Herbies. The tram takes you through a tunnel where you get to see the costume makers for movies and the characters in the parks.

Magic Kingdom: Tomorrowland

"A vista into a world of wondrous ideas, signifying man's achievements...a step into the future, with predictions of constructive things to come. Tomorrow offers new frontiers in science, adventure, and ideas: the Atomic Age, the challenge of outer space, and the hope for a peaceful and unified world." -Walt Disney

Tomorrowland is a section in Magic Kingdom. It was also recently made into a movie with George Clooney. This part of the park was made to represent Walt Disney's view of the future. It was hard to do that because as years go on it had to be updated...very often, so they decided to make it the future that was described by 1920's and 1930's sci-fi writers. Facts from: http://goo.gl/ju7jhk This whole part has metal and neon lights with a mixture of space and aliens all around.

The biggest attraction in this part is Space Mountain. Space Mountain is an indoor roller coaster that is mostly in the dark with the occasional neon lights displaying space like features. It is super fast and thrilling.

Second is Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. This ride is like a huge arcade game. You sit in a seat with a toy laser gun in front of you. Once the ride starts you aim the gun at objects and shoot to gain points.

Third is the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. This is a stand up comedy show that is hosted by none other than Mike Wazowski. They use the characters in the show to interact with the audience and involve them in the whole show.

Fourth is Stitch's Great Escape. This is not a ride, but more of a show with interaction. They seat you in a seat that stays in place, but jerks around a little bit as the "ride" starts. The whole idea of it is that Stitch gets out of his cage and starts roaming around the space ship. It goes completely dark and you hear the characters talking back and forth about where to look for him. Then all of a sudden you hear Stitch and then feel gusts of wind at your feet and Stitches voice in your ear. It gets kind of thrilling not knowing when Stitch will "run" passed your feet or be right in your ear. It might be a little too scary for little kids. They have changed the ride a little bit because before it was scaring too many kids.

Finally last, but not least is the Carousel of Progress. This is one of Disney's oldest attractions. This attraction shows a bunch of scenes of people in rooms talking about history.
